In this DPS, the title on the left-hand page is made the statement of the article. As a graffiti type font is used in all capital letters, this suggests the recklessness of the article; which will appeal to members of the target audience who associate recklessness with the  genre of rock/indie. With a white, thin border around the title also, this adds to the stamp-like effect that the title connotes.

In the top right hand corner, a small graphic is used as a bookmark with the bands name on it and the bands members name on. This is effective as when a reader is skimming through as it is clear who the double page spread is about and appeals to the bands fans who are members of the target audiences.

The main image is significant in connoting the genre of the magazine & band. As most of the band members are dressed in leather jackets, these are heavily associated with rock music and straight away connote the 'edge' of the band. All of the members are dressed down, which informs readers that it is an informal article which does not stick to a particular style. A long shot is used here so that all of the bands outfits are in and the body language can closely be assessed and seen; in this case, hands in pockets, standing up which emphasises the grungy feel connected to the image. Also, direct gaze is used which helps create a personal feeling & level between the band and the magazines readers.

The editor of this articles name is put into the subtitle in a very clever way, as the editor makes it out as if he is friends/ part of the band that he is writing an article on. Also, in this subtitle a short summary of the band is introduced for members of the target audience who may not be familiar with the band, therefore giving readers like that background information onto the band upon reading the article.

The text is separated into 2 columns on the DPS, with slightly opaque text boxes used so that the background can still be seen. Like many other double page spreads, this article starts off with an extremely large letter to catch the readers attention straight away. Apart from the large starting letter, an extremely normal font is used all throughout which makes it easier to read and also contrasts the usual and large head title.

The main colours used throughout are black, white & red, which seems to be a common colour scheme in many double page spreads. These colours are used as the colours positively contrast each other and allow each colour to stand out. Also, the use of a 3 colour scheme adds to the simplicity that the photo and the small area of text has. In this DPS, the red is used to highlight important parts of the text, with white highlighting the title & subtitles and black for the article itself.

The double page spread is written as a narrative piece, with the writer of the article telling stories and accounts of the band members with quotes placed all throughout the article. The piece of writing is very descriptive as it describes each of the band members appearance and how they act, giving readers and fans a personal and 'up-close' touch. The text also talks about the bands new album and upcoming tour, which is typical promotion seen in double page spreads.
